Lauryn Hill 'Miseducation' Tour x J.Cole Releases New Album 'K.O.D.'

2018 marks twenty years since Lauryn Hill's debut album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill rocked the world. To celebrate the anniversary of the album, the New Jersey emcee will be going on tour produced by Live Nation. The tour will start off July 5th in Virginia Beach, Virginia. and will go on throughout the U.S. until October.

While I always challenge the notion of TMOLH specifically being a hip-hop album since majority of it consisted of Hill singing and has r&b/neo-soul elements, her only studio album created a huge impact on the hip-hop community, especially for women in the genre. The ex-Fugees member took home five Grammy awards and the album continues to be a staple r&b and hip-hop masterpiece.

In more recent album release news, J. Cole's new album K.O.D. dropped this morning. This is the emcee's fifth studio album following the 2016 album 4 Your Eyez Only. He announced the news via his Twitter on April 16.

Cole states that the title has three meanings  but can be left to the listener's interpretation.

So far I like "Photograph","Kevin's Hart", "BRACKETS", and "Window Pain". A lot of the production seems to be similar and is giving me lullaby vibes. A review might be posted later.

Take a listen to the album here:
