Sweater Dress Season

I'm a firm believer in embracing style even in below freezing weather, because I refuse to allow Chicago's windchill to stop me from being cute. With that being said, one of my favorite winter wardrobe pieces are sweater dresses. I grabbed this vintage 1980's sweater dress from Village Discount Outlet a few months ago . What drew me to it was the bejeweled design on the chest area. However after trying it on, looking at in a full mirror, and getting a good feel for the dress, I decided like Solange I'm not really feeling it haha!

This is a vintage Darian acrylic sweater dress and I rocked it this past weekend while visiting the Blind Faith Cafe (still thinking about that scrumptious ass cake btw, omg!). I absolutely love the multi-color jewels on the chest area of the dress, they remind me of Christmas lights. It's so 1980's and a great dress, but a bit roomy and long for my liking. Funny thing is, it's a size medium but can seemingly fit a large/x-large. Plus, I'm not a huge fan of all black attire, I need color in my life, dammit! This dress would most certainly be a better fit on someone who's a size 14, definitely a curve hugger.

Nonetheless, this was a stylish ensemble for the winter season. I wore a pair of my bamboo earrings to go with the 1980's vibe, my vintage metallic gold purse, black stockings, and my Joan & David metallic bronze flats. Looking back at this look, I think I would have wore red stockings or instead of black to add a pop of color. To add, I put my hair in a fancy frohawk to go all out for some extra vintage flare.

If you want to grab this dress, you can head over to my online vintage shop to grab it here. And you can take 15% off with the promo code SNOWFLAKES for the winter sale! Happy winter, babes!
